| Training for your first adventure race can be an intimidating task. You need to cover disciplines including paddling, ropes, navigation, biking, running, etc. My recommendation to those wanting a structured training is to follow a triathlon training regiment replacing swimming with paddling. This will build a good strength and cardio core. Combine that with some practicing ropes skills and a weight training program and you're good to go. Only thing left is navigation which can be developed while getting a great workout by competing in local orienteering meets. Websites such as ontri.com offer free training programs and workout tracking to help get you started. |
